How much water should we drink daily?

The importance of our daily drinking water intake is significant and is essential for the functioning of the whole organism.  Water helps the body to maintain temperature, transports nutrients to the organs and oxygen to the lungs and remove waste products from the body. While we can go for weeks or even months without food, if necessary, we can’t go that long without water. Depending on the surrounding conditions, this can be anywhere from 3 to 7 days. Drinking water helps to prevent, among other things, the formation of kidney stones and constipation. However, drinking too little water can cause health problems. For example, lack of water can cause health problems such as fatigue, headaches, organ damage and, in extreme cases, severe dehydration can even be fatal.  Drinking water is also important for skin health and beauty. Drinking enough fluids helps to hydrate the skin and flush toxins from the body, which can improve skin condition and give it a glowing, youthful complexion.

How much water should we drink daily?

It can be said that drinking water is critical for the normal functioning of the body. As our bodies are made up of around 60% water, it is vital to ensure that we consume enough fluids throughout the day to keep it functioning.  Fortunately, the body also absorbs a large proportion of water from food, so there is no need to worry about dehydration if you eat a normal diet. However, we should drink at least 2-3 glasses of water every day. The amount of fluid you drink per day depends on several factors. For example, older people, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers should drink more water. People who are physically active or who drink more in hot summer weather also need more fluids, because we sweat more, which means that fluid is lost from the body more quickly.  It is also important to increase fluid intake during times of illness to support the body’s fight against pathogens and speed up recovery. In the case of recovery from illness, it would be good if the water also contained minerals to compensate the body for the loss of minerals more quickly.

How to make drinking water a pleasant habit?

Fortunately, getting into the habit of drinking water is not too difficult and you can get into the habit with a few little tips.

  • The choice is wide! Choose the water you like best. It can be carbonated or not, plain or flavoured, with or without minerals, straight from the tap or from the bottle.
  • Use a portable bottle, the sight of which reminds you that it’s time to drink water. When you drink from a bottle, you know exactly how much you’ve drunk during the day.
  • Add flavourings – mint, basil, rosemary, thyme; fresh or frozen berries and fruit. Cayenne pepper with honey and lemon is also a very good combination. Give preference to flavouring the finished product yourself with water, as this way you won’t consume too many hidden sugars.
  • Incorporate drinking water into a daily routine like eating or brushing your teeth.
  • If you tend to forget to drink water, it’s handy to use an app that sends reminders to your phone or smartwatch.

Quality mineral water contributes to the normal functioning of the body

H2: Quality mineral water contributes to the normal functioning of the body

Drinking mineral water is beneficial because it simultaneously replenishes the body’s water and mineral reserves. Minerals are essential for our body’s skeletal structure, body fluids and enzymes, and help to transmit nerve impulses. For example, sodium in mineral water is important for the functioning of the nervous system and the regulation of muscle function, while potassium helps to regulate fluid balance in the body. Calcium plays a key role in keeping bones strong and magnesium is important for regulating muscle function, blood sugar and blood pressure, among other things.  In order to keep Haage Water free from additives, our water is bottled directly from deep underground. This way, Haage’s water retains complete integrity from the moment you open the bottle. Our water contains naturally occurring minerals without any artificial additives.  Haage also offers Haanja natural mineral water, which is rich in minerals, has a slightly salty taste and helps the body to feel good after physical exertion. Our bubbly and non-bubbly waters contain between 328 and 344 mg/l of minerals, while Haanja’s water contains between 1,900 and 2,300 mg/l of minerals.
